My passion for fishing started many years ago, before I can even remember. Back then, it was about getting to go out on the boat and play around while my dad and grandpa fished. Once I started actually fishing, I instantly fell in love with it. It was frustrating at times (and still is to this day) when others are catching more than me but I quickly learned that it wasn’t about the catch. It’s about the chase. The uncertainty of when you will get a bite or if you ever will was fascinating to me. Understanding how to set yourself up in the best way possible to get a bite and trying to figure it out is what really got me hooked. Fishing is a puzzle that you will never solve but you have to put a few pieces together each day to be successful. And it changes each day, keeping it fresh. I created HB’s Custom Lures so I could share this passion with my customers. I want to help point you in the right direction towards success. Not only do I want to help my customers, but I want to help the fishing community as well. The Paralyzed Veterans of America hold a fishing tournament series for Veterans that have been wounded and would otherwise not have the opportunity to fish competitively. Many people from around the community serve as boat captains for these Veterans and take them out on their boats for a day so they can fish. Many great fish are caught but even more great conversations are had and memories made.
